Birth of the Drawing Blog!

I am very excited to add this new section to my existing art blog. It's pretty cool how a blog can now get so close to being to an actual website. And it's still free! Anyhow, I've been wanting to launch this "drawings only" section for a while. There's always a lot of drawings going on "behind the scenes" of the paintings that I post. Some drawings are in support of larger work, but most are independent excursions. Often, the drawings go places that the paintings do not, as I feel more adventurous with the drawings and can feel free to work out ideas very immediately. The evolution of my paintings feels more linear than the path of these drawings, but it is the ability to jump around and try anything with drawing that nurtures the growth. Now that I have this outlet for drawings, I aim to post drawings more frequently. I make more drawings than paintings, and I've long wanted to share them, but separately from the paintings. As I mentioned, the drawings can vary greatly from each other, but when a large group is seen together, you can get a sense of a larger connection between the varying ideas (at least I think so).
